artlab: puzzle piece pendants
Trying to come up with a project for an art/creativity workshop? A great place to shop for not only supplies, but more importantly, for ideas, is the local flea market/antique barn. On one recent and lucky treasure hunting trip, I came upon an old bag of wooden puzzle pieces. They were in good condition: thick, made of real wood, and solid, so they didn’t crack under a little pressure. They were also big, but not too big.
They looked like future pendants to me, so I bought them for $5, brought them home, soaked them for a moment to get the paper off, then left them to dry for the night.
The next day they were primed, then drilled
and then one was selected as a prototype to paint.*
