december fotoplay : gallery 3

The creators of this next collection of December Fotoplay worked with markers, pencil, and collage, and designed Dadaistic, cubistic, and cartoon-referencing works. The collaged card above was made by Linda Stec, the Executive Director of the Starrett Children’s Center, as well as a ceramic artist and puppeteer.

This piece was made by a six year old girl, who was seated next to Linda as she made her collage. (It’s the first collage that the young girl has ever made.)

The works above and below were made by three year old children, also working at the same table with Linda.  The anatomy of the mouth above is incredible. And the wow to those rotated-earrings-for-eyes below…

The card below was emailed to me by Caitlin Greene, age eleven, who lives in Portland. I love the overall sense of pattern, which flows right into the face…

And finally, we have the card below, created by Hailey Greene, age nine. Strangely perfect, the kinship here between Santa and the Simpsons…
